I sure relate to the vulnerability that leads to getting caught up in Pentecostalism, as well as to the fear and shame they use to trap people there. I also had a second baptism and found my entanglement led me into a dangerous mental health crisis. Thank you so much for sharing here and for all the ways you share your journey.
Allowing myself to really sit with and share some of this part of my story, I realize just how vulnerable I was back then and how "skilled" the church was at using vulnerability to draw people in. There's so much stirring and I'm listening for when/how/what to write about it all.
Thank you for being willing to share this story—it’s so powerful. I am so glad that you have reclaimed baptism, and love the idea of baptizing your book.

It’s been healing to tell and along with baptizing the book, frees me to dive into a new season of life…and publishing the next chapter.
Thank you for sharing your trauma so vividly. And, it is fascinating how water is such a key presence in your life. Now it is your healing.
In sharing this part of my story, I am reminding of my healing AND the tender spaces that still need some healing water.
