Today I will “step back and listen” and find joy, not in crumbs but in the whole of life. I appreciate your words and thank you for calling us to think about what we can do as allies.
Queer joy is so powerful and I love that you’re taking time to savor! I’ve been recovering from a nasty fall this Pride month, but I’m getting better and each little bit I get to do feels so amazing. Joy has included a book signing, a Pride celebration, and today I was finally able to drive for the first time in three weeks. Oh, and I had some chocolate covered almonds. Yum!!
Rebecca, I find so much JOY in reflecting on your creative essays and wish you well in totally enjoying the "entire tasty lovely croissant" that is YOU! I too am stepping back to listen more deeply and, hopefully, to understand more clearly. I love the ways in which you so clearly see the intersections of your life with our sisters and brothers in need throughout our war-weary world.

Thank you. 🙏 🩷🙏
Yes! This joy is necessary for collective liberation. Beautifully written, thank you for this!
